With the honor of winning the second prize at the Metropole Hotel Architecture Design Contest, KUME SEKKEI & SWA Vietnam had been approved to officially design this project.
Our design is launched to create city’s a new landmark, a strong statement to the existing urban context by a simple and bold form of architecture. Derived from the site’s unique location of being at the tip of A-shaped intersection, the building is formed as A-shaped Tower over-looking toward the Downtown of HCMC.
This tower is carefully designed with 3 basements and 23 storeys. The podium levels are from ground floor to one part of sixth floor and the guest levels are from one part of sixth floor to 23th floor. It’s deeply impressed by its simple, modern, strong beauty in the block and space using. The tower façade is wrapped with aluminum louvers, which is a outer skin of the tower envelop. These louvers are detached from the glazing units and function as sun shading device. This is a type of double skin façade system and is the most effective and simple method to reduce solar heat penetration into interior space.
